Itinerary
Your journey begins in the heart of India’s capital, Delhi. You’ll be picked up early in the morning from your preferred location—home, hotel, railway station, or airport. As your private vehicle sets off toward Shimla, sit back and enjoy the gradual shift in scenery from Delhi's urban sprawl to the hilly vistas of Himachal Pradesh.
The drive is long but scenic, with opportunities to stop for meals and refreshment along the way at well-maintained highway restaurants. As you ascend into the hills of Himachal, the air turns cooler, and pine-covered slopes welcome you into a new world.
By evening, you arrive in Shimla, once the summer capital of British India. Check into your hotel and rest after the long drive. If time permits and you're not too tired, take a leisurely walk around the local market to get your first feel of the mountain town. Enjoy dinner at your hotel and prepare for a full day of exploration tomorrow.
After a refreshing night’s rest and a hearty breakfast, you’ll embark on a day-long excursion covering both Shimla and Kufri, two jewels of Himachal Pradesh.
Your first stop is Kufri, located about 16 kilometers from Shimla. Known for its panoramic views and adventure activities, Kufri is a popular destination for tourists of all ages. You can ride horses or yaks up to the Mahasu Peak or visit the Himalayan Nature Park to spot native flora and fauna. During the winter months, Kufri transforms into a skiing destination, drawing snow lovers from across the country.
After spending a few hours in Kufri, return to Shimla to explore its colonial-era architecture and famous landmarks. Visit the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, housed in the former Viceregal Lodge, which showcases the grand design of the British Raj. Then head to Jakhoo Temple, perched atop the highest point in Shimla and dedicated to Lord Hanuman. The temple is accessible by road or via a short but steep trek, and offers a stunning view of the valley.
In the evening, enjoy a stroll down the historic Mall Road, a pedestrian-only boulevard flanked by colonial buildings, local shops, cafes, and viewpoints. Don't miss the Christ Church, the second-oldest church in North India, glowing beautifully under the evening lights. Visit Scandal Point and Ridge Road to enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding hills.
After a delightful day of sightseeing, return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and prepare for a scenic journey from Shimla to Manali. This drive winds through mountain passes, river valleys, and charming Himachali towns, offering stunning views throughout.
En route, stop at the famous town of Kullu, nestled on the banks of the Beas River. Here, you can visit a traditional shawl weaving factory and explore the local market famous for its woolen clothes and handicrafts. For those interested in a bit of adventure, optional river rafting in Kullu can also be arranged during the right season.
Another highlight is the Pandoh Dam, a scenic spot on the Beas River with beautiful backdrops perfect for photographs. If time allows, you may also visit the Vaishno Devi Temple in Kullu, a peaceful and spiritually uplifting stop on your way to Manali.
Arrive in Manali by evening and check in to your hotel. Surrounded by snow-clad mountains and pine forests, Manali is a true gem of Himachal Pradesh. After checking in, unwind and relax in the cool mountain air. Enjoy your dinner at the hotel and get ready for an adventurous and spiritual exploration of Manali the next day.
Wake up to the soothing melody of birdsong and the gentle whisper of pine trees in Manali. After a warm breakfast at the hotel, get ready for a full day dedicated to exploring Manali's local attractions—an enchanting mix of mythology, scenic splendor, and mountain town culture.
Begin your day with a visit to the Hidimba Devi Temple, nestled within a cedar forest. This ancient wooden temple, built in 1553, is dedicated to Hidimba, the wife of Bhima from the Mahabharata. The unique architecture, with its pagoda-style roof and animal carvings, is a visual treat and reflects Himachali craftsmanship.
Next, head to the nearby Manu Temple, located in Old Manali. It is believed to be the only temple in India dedicated to Sage Manu, the creator of the world according to Hindu mythology. The winding roads and quaint cafés of Old Manali add to the town’s laid-back charm.
Then proceed to Vashisht Village, known for its natural hot springs and stone temples. You can take a relaxing dip in the sulfur-rich water or explore the ancient shrines dedicated to Sage Vashisht and Lord Rama.
After lunch at a local café, continue your exploration with a visit to Van Vihar, a peaceful park with towering deodar trees, walking trails, and a small boating pond.
Later, explore the bustling Mall Road of Manali. Here, you’ll find everything from Tibetan handicrafts and woolen clothes to aromatic teas and handmade soaps. Take time to enjoy a cup of steaming chai or indulge in some delicious local cuisine like Siddu, Dham, or trout fish.
Return to your hotel in the evening for a freshly prepared dinner and a cozy night’s rest.
This day is dedicated to adventure, snow, and jaw-dropping scenery as you venture out on an excursion to either Solang Valley or Rohtang Pass, depending on the season and road conditions.
After breakfast, drive towards Solang Valley, situated about 13 kilometers from Manali. This beautiful open meadow is famous for its adventure sports. During the summer months, visitors can enjoy paragliding, ropeways, zorbing, and ATV rides. In winter, the valley turns into a snowy playground perfect for skiing, snowboarding, and snowball fights.
If Rohtang Pass is open (typically from May to November, with a special permit), then prepare for a journey even higher into the Himalayas. Located at an altitude of 13,050 feet, Rohtang Pass offers breathtaking views of glaciers, snowfields, and distant peaks. Play in the snow, take unforgettable photographs, and marvel at nature’s grandeur.
En route, visit Rahala Waterfalls and Gulaba, two scenic spots perfect for short halts and photos. Also, make sure to stop at Marhi, a popular place for food stalls and snow gear rental.
By late afternoon, return to Manali. On the way back, you may also stop at Nehru Kund, a natural spring with clear icy water believed to have been frequented by Jawaharlal Nehru.
Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel in Manali.
Note: Rohtang Pass requires advance permit booking, which we will arrange on your behalf, subject to weather and government regulations
Today, after breakfast, check out from your Manali hotel and prepare for a long but scenic drive to Amritsar, the holy city in Punjab. The road takes you through the beautiful countryside of Himachal and Punjab, passing rivers, farmlands, and small towns.
En route, you may stop for refreshments at traditional Punjabi dhabas, known for their delicious parathas, lassi, and chole bhature. As you enter Punjab, the landscape changes—flat plains covered in golden fields stretch out before you.
You’ll arrive in Amritsar by evening. Check into your hotel and relax after the long journey. If you have energy left, you can take a brief evening walk to nearby markets like Hall Bazaar or Lawrence Road to taste some local snacks like Amritsari kulcha and jalebi.
Dinner and overnight stay in Amritsar.
After breakfast, gear up for a day filled with emotion, devotion, and cultural pride. Your exploration of Amritsar begins with a visit to the world-renowned Golden Temple, also known as Harmandir Sahib. This gleaming spiritual complex attracts millions of devotees and tourists every year. As you walk barefoot across the marble pathway, the sacred sarovar (holy pool) reflects the temple’s golden dome and creates an ethereal ambiance.
Take your time to sit in silence, listen to the soothing Gurbani (spiritual music), and partake in the Langar—a community kitchen that serves free meals to all visitors, regardless of caste, creed, or background. It’s a humbling and heartwarming experience.
Next, visit Jallianwala Bagh, a nearby memorial dedicated to the martyrs of the infamous massacre of 1919. The preserved bullet marks, eternal flame, and memorial well silently narrate a tragic chapter of India’s struggle for freedom.
Later, take a short drive to Partition Museum, a relatively new but deeply impactful museum documenting the stories of those who lived through the partition of India in 1947.
After a break for lunch, get ready for one of the most stirring patriotic experiences of your life—the Wagah Border Retreat Ceremony. Located about 30 kilometers from Amritsar, Wagah Border marks the international boundary between India and Pakistan.
Every evening, before sunset, a powerful flag-lowering ceremony takes place with synchronized marching by soldiers of both nations, loud patriotic chanting, and overwhelming national pride. The energy and fervor of this ceremony is infectious and unforgettable.
Return to your hotel in Amritsar by late evening for dinner and overnight stay.
On the final day of your journey, have an early breakfast, check out from your hotel, and begin your return drive to Delhi. The route cuts through the rich plains of Punjab and Haryana, with green fields and roadside eateries lining the way.
Depending on your schedule, you can request optional halts for meals or visit roadside attractions such as Karnal’s Karna Lake or Murthal’s dhabas, famous for parathas and butter-soaked delights.
By evening or night, arrive back in Delhi, where you will be dropped off at your chosen location. Your magical 7 Nights 8 Days Delhi–Shimla–Manali–Amritsar journey concludes with cherished memories, scenic photographs, and enriching experiences that will stay with you for a lifetime.
