As the vehicle rolls out of the bustling capital, you begin to witness a gradual transition from urban landscapes to the tranquil Himalayan foothills. The drive to Shimla is long yet beautiful, unfolding scenic views of fields, quaint villages, and winding roads hugged by pine trees. Along the way, there’s an option to take a brief stop at Pinjore Garden, a historical Mughal garden known for its symmetrical beauty and calming ambiance. As you ascend the hills and breathe in the fresh air of Himachal, you’ll notice a sense of calm replacing the city buzz.
By evening, you reach Shimla, the charming capital of Himachal Pradesh, often called the “Queen of Hills.” Check-in is arranged at a comfortable, centrally located hotel offering excellent valley views and modern amenities. After a long road journey, you can unwind and relax in your room or explore the surroundings of your hotel. As the sun sets behind the deodar-covered hills, a hearty dinner awaits you at the hotel’s in-house restaurant. Rest for the night and gear up for an exciting day ahead in Shimla.
Start your day with a delicious breakfast, complemented by the cool morning breeze and splendid views from your hotel. Soon after, you proceed for a full-day sightseeing experience beginning with a drive to Kufri, which lies around 18 kilometers from Shimla. This picturesque hill station is a favorite among nature lovers and snow seekers. During winters, Kufri transforms into a snowy playground, and in summers, it offers peaceful green meadows and adventure activities. You can enjoy horse rides or yak rides to Mahasu Peak, visit the Kufri Fun World for some light-hearted amusement, or simply soak in the natural serenity.
On your return to Shimla, your local sightseeing tour continues with a visit to the Jakhoo Temple, an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman, perched atop Jakhoo Hill. You can reach the temple by trekking through a forest path or opt for the Jakhoo ropeway that offers a panoramic ride above the deodar forests. Next, you head to The Ridge, the cultural heart of Shimla, which opens up to stunning views of snow-capped mountains. A short walk takes you to Christ Church, a splendid example of neo-Gothic architecture that adds colonial charm to the town.
You continue exploring Scandal Point, a place steeped in legend, and browse through the vibrant Lakkar Bazaar, known for wooden handicrafts and souvenirs. Before sunset, a leisurely stroll on Mall Road reveals charming cafes, British-era buildings, and buzzing markets.
